Blog ‣ Digital marketing news #2 | The Think Pool

Here are two recent news that caught my attention:

‣ The messaging unification app by Automattic that seamlessly connects with ChatGPT

Did you know that there is a tool that integrates messages from multiple social networks and messengers into one inbox? That integrates with ChatGPT, provides end-to-end encryption, and doesn’t monetize your data?

It is called Texts.com and lets you send and receive messages from iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Facebook Messenger, Twitter DMs, Instagram DMs, LinkedIn, Slack, and Discord, among others.

If you are already familiar with the platform, here is the latest news: Automattic, the company behind WordPress, has recently acquired it.

From my perspective, the acquisition appears to be a strategic move from Automattic. It allows them to expand their digital ecosystem, integrating and allowing consolidation of customer interaction data. We could also see this as part of a broader diversification strategy, in addition to a data integration and insights strategy.

Perhaps we can expect in the future some synergy and integration with WordPress and WooCommerce in terms of customer service and Business Intelligence.

‣ SEO in the spotlight: My brief thoughts on Verge’s article ‘The people who ruined the internet

Lewis’s Verge article on the SEO impact on Google search results is causing a stir in the digital marketing community. While the historical section is captivating, I have reservations about the rest.

The majority of full-time SEO experts in my network don’t align with Lewis’s portrayal.

Shady professionals can be found everywhere. Placing the spotlight on ‘black hat’ SEO, despite the majority embracing best practices to enhance the online user experience, indicates a lack of nuance and flirts with sensationalism.

What are your thoughts on this?
